GM Warrior is an online game which will support and raise awareness for the Greenpeace GM campaign and will direct interest to the 'Shopper's Guide to GM'. The guide is an invaluable resource to discover what is GM-free and what is not, and what you and your supermarkets can do to change things. Greenpeace commissioned Artificial Environments to translate core messages of the GM campaign into a fun, interactive experience which will spread viraly. Greenpeace have successfully used online games and animations in the past to raise awareness for a variety of issues. Stop Whaling! and Windfarm (also created by Artificial Environments) are examples of this. In GM Warrior the player has to stop GM plants from speading by shooting them with a sling shot. The player is confronted with a plot of land on which GM and non GM plants grow, flower and slowly spead over the entire area. The detailed animation and the dynamics combined with an online highscore make the experience something you want to share with your friends. About GM foods Ever since scientists have had the power to take a gene from one organism and put it into an entirely different species GM crops have been widely discussed in the media. Will genetically modified food pose a risk to health? Will genetically modified rice solve the world hunger problem? GM foods are an emotional issue for the public. Due to successfull lobbying by Greenpeace and others the public has forced supermarkets not to stock any GM foods. |
